Happy Weekend Everyone,
I hope you have managed to grab a moment or two for you this weekend. I’m making this a goal of mine this year, to make time each week for myself and to be more kind to myself, so that in turn I can be more kind to others. I find that it is so easy in the busyness of life to just keep going and going, giving of myself to work and all the other things on my to do list that I neglect myself and forget to recharge my batteries.
Now as much as I would love to take a day out every week to take a trip to a spa for head to toe pampering, or spend all my extra time in art shops buying sketchbooks and new paints I don’t think that my bank balance would allow such luxuries. So instead I am enjoying much simpler pleasures.
My new top 3 are:
- Having a long soak in a bubble bath, baby McB seems to enjoy these too.
- Taking a trip to the library, I have recently rediscovered my love of visiting the library, which is something I loved to do as a kid.
- Turning off my phone and having a coffee and a catch up with James.
Two days before christmas just gone James decided that we needed to buy new shelves for the kitchen to house his new coffee equipment (his early christmas present from me) and to make room he took down some old shelves, which is funny because I had been asking him to do this for over two years with no success until now! This meant a pre christmas trip to Ikea was needed.
Now initially I was sceptical about the need for two whole shelves devoted to coffee stuff, but now I am totally sold and our new thing is to have a phone free zone fancy coffee together, which in turn in a small way helps me take a little time out each day.
I would love to hear how you all take time out for yourself? As I am always looking for new ideas.
Lots of love,
